I run the Insights team at Carta. We have the largest data set in the world on early-stage companies thanks to the 40,000 startups that trust us to run their cap tables. Our data covers many subjects, but most relevant to the early-stage founder are topics like fundraising on SAFEs, giving out equity to advisors, and compensating your first employees.

Why is this useful? Early startups are inundated with advice - but very little of that advice comes with actual evidence. Founders use Carta every day to build a realistic picture of what's happening across startups.
