Dominique Toutant (he/him)

Director, Galerie Division

Dominique Toutant has been director of Galerie Division in Montreal since 2010. Representing more than 25 artists, the gallery promotes contemporary art from Quebec and Canada. With the gallery, he has participated in many fairs, notably the Untitled Fair in Miami, Zona Maco in Mexico City, Volta Art Fair in New York, Dallas Art Fair, Photofairs in San Francisco, Art Toronto and Papier in Montreal. He has been on the board of the Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC) for the last year and is very involved in the diffusion of contemporary art. He has been a guest lecturer at the Université du Québec à Montréal and for the Association of Art Museum Curators Foundation during their annual convention.

Born in Quebec City, Dominique Toutant holds a Bachelor’s in Studio Arts from Laval University (1997) and a Master’s in Multimedia Arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal (2002). Prior to running Galerie Division, he worked as a conceptual artist, employing art history as material and transposing historical art works into new contexts.
