Alain-Olivier Desbois (he/him)

Impact investor, strategist, and business coach with more than 25 years of experience in the fields of Cleantech venture capital and impact investing. Alain-Olivier provides a hands-on strategic and coaching approach to entrepreneurs and managers for the creation, strategic development and the financing of start-ups and private impact funds. He is passionate about designing and developing new business models and investment tools that integrate impact, sustainability, system transformation and life cycle thinking.

Over the past six years, he has supported more than thirty Impact start-up companies and investment funds, particularly in the Food, Cleantech and Health sectors, and has contributed to mobilize 225 million dollars from Canadian and US impact investors.

Alain-Olivier is one the pioneer and leader of the Canadian impact investment community.

Prior to joining Oneka, Alain-Olivier co-founded two leading incubator/accelerator Espace-inc and Esplanade’s Impact8, was a Senior Advisor of the SVX impact crowdfunding investment platform and a co-founder and partner at Cycle Capital Management.

Alain-Olivier sits on the boards of Oneka Technologies, Evol and the Greater Montreal Climate Fund. He is a strategic advisor for Nectar and Moozoom.
