Randy Smerik is an experienced serial entrepreneur, with over 35 years experience in the technology fields of database systems, analytics, big data, mobile, social, networking, SaaS, security, and semi-conductors as well as businesses in the spirits and restaurant markets. 

Randy’s background and experience includes:   Founder/CEO of five high tech companies in the fields of database, security, and networks.  In addition to technology, Randy owns and runs the Michelin award winning San Diego-based restaurant, Solare Ristorante, and is on the Board of Directors for Fortaleza Tequila (Jalisco, Mexico).

A frequent industry speaker in the areas of venture capital, entrepreneurship, agave, and hospitality, Randy is an active angel investor and advisor to a variety of startups, accelerators, and investment organizations.
